Pharma : Hepatitis B Immunoglobulin
Hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) is a human immunoglobulin that is used to prevent the development of hepatitis B.
Hepatitis B Hyperimmunoglobulin.
Hepatect CP is a human hyper immunoglobulin for intravenous infusion manufactured from plasma from vaccinated donors with high anti-HBs antibody titres.
A modern technological process preserves the optimal function and activity of the specific immunoglobulins.
Hepatect CP consists of a sugar-free isotonic low-salt solution with a pH of 5.2.
The only stabilizer contained in it is the amino acid glycine. Its protein content is five percent. Of this up to 95 percent consists of immunoglobulins. Its anti-HBs activity is 50 units/ml.
Hepatect CP is used for the post-exposure prophylaxis of HBV infection e.g. after needle puncture injuries and for the prophylaxis of vertical transmission in neonates.
It is the only hepatitis B hyperimmune globulin also licensed for the prophylaxis of HBV reinfection after liver transplantation.
Hepatect CP is sugar-free. It is rendered isotonic and stable by the addition of glycine (300 mmol/l).
Undesired residuals (alphaglobulins, betaglobulin, fibrinogen, prekallikrein activator, kallikrein) have been removed.
